- Then click on the Sync icon (top-middle of the page).

If users don’t have a OneDrive application, a prompt will be appeared as “Download software”
- Then, a prompt appears as Open Microsoft OneDrive ,this file opens in the One Drive application, click on Open Microsoft OneDrive.
- Then a pop-up appears as We’re syncing your files -> Click on the Close button.

- A dialogue box appears as “Your folder is here” -> Click on Next.

- Once all set, the SharePoint Document Library will be synced to our computer (Local device) as shown below:

- After syncing to the SharePoint Online Document Library with OneDrive, if users make any changes to a file, it automatically changes in the SharePoint Online Document Library too.

Prevent Users From Syncing SharePoint Online Document Library to Local System
Here we will see how to prevent users from syncing SharePoint Online Document Libraries to their local systems.
- Open the SharePoint Online Document library -> Click on the settings icon -> Select Library settings.

- Choose Advanced settings under General Settings.

- Scroll down, in Offline Client Availability, and choose No (Allow items from this SharePoint Online Document Library to be downloaded to offline clients) as shown below:

- Click on the OK button. Then, the Sync button will not be available in the SharePoint Online Document Library.

- After syncing a SharePoint Online Document Library with OneDrive, the Metadata column will not be visible on the Local device.
- Users can’t sync an individual SharePoint Online Document Library folder or files to the Local device.
- When a user is deleting a SharePoint Online Document Library, they will receive a prompt “Are you sure to delete it else it will be saved in recycle bin“.
- But if a user deletes it from their Local device, it directly deletes it, and they can’t access it. Again, they need to sync a SharePoint Document Library with OneDrive.
