Rename a SharePoint Document Library

There are two different ways we can rename a SharePoint Online document library as mentioned below.

1. Rename SharePoint Document Library from Library settings
2. Rename SharePoint Document Library from Site Content

1. Rename SharePoint Online Document Library from “Library settings”

Let’s use library settings to rename the document library in SharePoint Online. To achieve it, follow the below steps:

• Open a SharePoint Online document library then click on the Settings icon and select the Library Settings
• In this Library Settings window, rename the SharePoint document library name. Here, I have renamed the SharePoint Online document library from Installation + Tutorial to Installation + Guide, then click the Save button.

2. Rename SharePoint Document Library from “Site Content”

Here, we will see how to rename the document library in SharePoint using Site Content.

• Open a SharePoint Online document library, click the Settings icon, and select Site Content. Then in this window, click on … More options of the selected document library -> Click on Settings.

• Inside the tab, click on List name, description, and navigation under General Settings. Now, rename the SharePoint Online document library in the General Settings window.

• I have renamed the SharePoint Document Library from Installation & Tutorials to Installation and Guide -> Click on Save.
