- Open a SharePoint Online site and then click on Edit. In this edit tab, click on the + icon to add a new web part in column one as shown below.

- Then a dialog box pops up, select Image Gallery. Now you can see the SharePoint Image gallery web part is added to SharePoint Online.

In this section, I will show you how to add images in an Image Gallery Web Part from the SharePoint Documents library. To do that, I have added images to the SharePoint documents site page.
Follow the below-listed steps to achieve it.
- Open a SharePoint Online image gallery web part and then click on Edit. Inside this edit mode click on Edit web part as shown below.

- Then in this Image gallery window, select Dynamically display images from a document library under Image options and then click on Republish.

- You can see the images from the SharePoint document library as shown below.

- Go to edit mode using the steps of the above section and then click on the Edit web part. Inside the Image gallery tab select the option listed below:
- Image Options: From, here you are to select images for the SharePoint image gallery web part. There are two options for selecting images, they are

- Dynamically display images from a document library: If you select this option, you have to select two options, the Document library and the Maximum number of images to display.

NOTE:
The maximum number of images to display in the Image gallery web part from the site assets is 255.
- Layout: There are three categories to the layout in the SharePoint image gallery web part such as:
- Grid: When we select the Grid, the user has to select the Aspect ratio to display images as shown below.

SharePoint Server 2019 or SharePoint Online only support to insert alternative text on the single images where as Classic SharePoint site doesnt support this.
3. Carousel: Here, we can slide the toggle to ON and OFF to Automatically cycle through images and also select seconds between each change of images as shown below.
